Our 2026-27 Season
Dear Friends,
We look forward to our 58th season with excitement. It’s remarkable to think we have been presenting unique live chamber music programs to Hampton Roads for almost six decades. This milestone is a testament to our shared love for this art form and our incredible community of music enthusiasts.
This coming season, we return to the exquisite ambiance of Christ & St. Luke’s and present a program entitled “Remembering Allen Shaffer.” The program commemorates the longtime co-artistic director of the Norfolk Chamber Consort and includes pieces he either programmed or would have liked to program, including Schütz, J.S. Bach, Handel, Debussy, and works Allen commissioned.
Following our debut in Virginia Beach last year, we are again offering a concert at the Virginia Beach Christian Church presenting works ranging from the Renaissance to the present that evoke a maritime atmosphere, solace, and star-watching.
The spectacular line-up of works and performers continues on Valentine’s Eve at Larchmont United Methodist Church, when we celebrate, yes, LOVE, through an intriguing selection of works from the early Renaissance through Baroque, Romantic (cannot do without this era), and, of course, 20th century. Works by Cordier, DuFay, Monteverdi, Schumann, Rorem, and many others.
Finally, the season ends with a program dedicated to Spring at the sanctuary of the historic Freemason Street Baptist Church. Come and enjoy everything spring, whether it be Cherry Blossom Festival, Cinco de Mayo, Persian New Year, May Day, and much more.
We deeply appreciate your past support and ask for your continued generosity to help ensure the Norfolk Chamber Consort’s success. Your donations are instrumental in bringing these exquisite concerts to life, and you can easily contribute by clicking on the “Donate” tab on our website and on our mailings. We assure you that your tax-deductible gifts play a vital role in supporting our talented artists who are dedicated to sharing this great music with all of us.
We always welcome new board members. If you are passionate about our mission and would like to take a more active role, we invite you to consider joining the board of directors. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to any board member for further information—your involvement will be greatly valued.
With tremendous enthusiasm, we eagerly await the arrival of the upcoming season and the opportunity to see all of you there! Let us join together once again as we celebrate the power of live music and the joy it brings to our lives.
Wishing you all the very best,
Jake A. Keller
